Seeing Jenna Ortega take a page from Carrie Bradshaw’s stylebook was not something I had on my bingo card this year, but I'd say it's a welcome turn of events.

In case you missed it, the Wednesday star recently attended the world premiere of Lionsgate's Hurry Up Tomorrow in New York City. For the occasion, she stepped out in a newspaper-print dress by Dior, famously worn by Sarah Jessica Parker's shoe-obsessed character, Carrie, in season three of Sex and the City. She paired the number with gold sandals and accessorized with a pendant necklace.

The dress, which comes from John Galliano’s Dior autumn/winter 2000 collection, first appeared in episode 17 of SATC ("What Goes Around Comes Around"), where Carrie pays Mr Big’s wife, Natasha, a surprise visit and proceeds to ruin her marriage (and lunch) with a major confession.

After Natasha's fiery clap-back, Carrie struts through the busy streets of Manhattan in her show-stopping dress, marking one of the most scandalous moments in the show's history. But this isn't the only time SJP was spotted in the backless number. Ten years later, the dress resurfaced when Parker was spotted behind the scenes for Sex And The City 2 (pictured above).

Fortunately, Ortega has no plans to ruin a marriage in her Carrie-inspired ensemble, but she did note in her red carpet interview that her stylist, Enrique Melendez, chose the piece to represent New York culture.

She said, "I don't know how it's even possible that I'm wearing this dress. My incredible stylist, Enrique Melendez, is obsessed with Sex and the City, and he was thinking, 'What's a good New York-themed film?' And there's probably nothing more New York than Carrie Bradshaw."

She added, "I don't know how we pulled it off. There were a million conversations being had, but I feel so lucky and so privileged to be able to wear such a stunning dress. It's definitely one of my favorites."

I could say the same—although her dangerous Met Gala look comes in at a very close second.
