IKEA Has Chocolate ‘Vårkänsla’ for Easter, and Yeah, They Require Some Assembly

Nothing brings us more joy than the food selection at IKEA. Meatballs? Check. Cinnamon buns? Check, check.

Enter IKEA’s way of celebrating the vernal equinox: three-ounce milk chocolate bunnies (aka Vårkänsla)…some assembly required.

In true IKEA form, the three-piece confections are housed in flat-packs à la your living room couch. With a little patience and no Allen wrench, the two-dimensional chocolate pieces form a very Nordic-looking rabbit.

And of course, a little Swedish lesson: Vårkänsla is a variant on vårkänslor, the Swedish term for “spring fever.” That’s the opposite of the feeling you get after assembling (and eating) one too many flat-packed chocolate rabbits. Psst: The furniture store has an entire collection of Swedish Easter candy to keep your rabbit company.

The Vårkänsla are only available in stores, but each little guy will cost you only $4.29 and an ounce of your sanity to assemble it.
