The Bizarre Way Sandra Bullock Told Harry Connick Jr. He Booked ‘Hope Floats’

When it comes to announcing good news, Sandra Bullock is all about creativity.

On a recent episode of The Graham Norton Show, Harry Connick Jr. talked about his breakout role in the 1998 rom-com Hope Floats, which (shocker!) almost went to another actor. “It was one of the first movies I did,” he said. “I really wanted to do this part. It was between me and some other guy.”

After the audition, Connick Jr. asked Bullock about his chances, and she gave him the surprise of a lifetime.

“She starts to untuck her shirt, and I’m thinking, ‘OK, it’s not particularly warm in here,’ he added. “She starts unbuttoning her shirt, and she starts raising her shirt up. On her stomach was written, ‘You got the part.’”

We see what you did there, Sandra.
