Gayle King Is a Vision in Orange on the Emmys Red Carpet

Gayle King certainly knows how to make an entrance.

Appearing on the red carpet at the 2025 Emmy Awards, hosted at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, the 70-year-old was a vision in orange, wearing a pleated maxi dress with billowy, cape-like sleeves. Adding to her maximalist look, the TV personality and journalist wore a stack of multicolored bangles and bracelets on one wrist, and a decked-out Apple watch on the other. To top it off? Two silver necklaces that contrasted her bright orange gown beautifully.

As for her hair, King switched things up with a straightened take on her recently lightened lob, which helped to accentuate her bold eyeliner and creamy lip. Of course, this isn’t the first time King has made a pop during awards season.

For the 2024 Golden Globes, she hit the red carpet in a purple one-shoulder gown by Solace London, a tribute to The Color Purple remake that had just premiered one month earlier. The show-stopping dress was paired with metallic silver heels and hoop earrings, earning compliments from many fans when CBS Mornings shared a video of King on the red carpet.

"You look beautiful, love the dress choice," wrote one commenter. "You picked the best dress!!" added another. A few months later, King stole the show again at the 2024 CMT Music Awards in a shimmery green pant suit and matching pointed heels.

And with the 2025 awards season just beginning, I expect there to be plenty more noteworthy outfits from King ahead.
