Dennis Quaid just shared details about his latest movie, Blue Miracle, and revealed why it’s a must-watch during these times of uncertainty.

The 67-year-old actor recently sat down for an exclusive interview with PureWow, where he discussed the brand-new film. If you need a refresher, Blue Miracle is based on a true story and follows a group of orphans as they team up with a local fisherman, Wade (Quaid), for a competition.

While discussing the Netflix original movie, Quaid revealed that he hopes the feel-good story serves as an inspiration. “It’s very uplifting, and I think that’s what we need these days,” he told PureWow. “I want viewers to be entertained. More than anything else, it’s a great, great story. And the message—the message is going to shine through with the story.”

Quaid’s co-star Jimmy Gonzales also chimed in and revealed that while he was nervous about bringing the story to life, he soon realized the similarities between himself and his character, Omar (the guardian of the orphanage).

“I got the job, and I thought, ‘OK. Now I’m going to have an anxiety attack,’” he explained. “And [director Julio Quintana] was like, ‘Look, come out to my place. We’re gonna sit down, and we’re gonna break the script down line by line.’ So, we just talked about all the philosophical themes and all the stakes—the internal stakes, the exterior stakes. And we started to see a lot of parallels between Omar’s life and my own.”

In addition to Quaid and Gonzales, the movie also stars Bruce McGill (Wayne), Raymond Cruz (Hector), Dana Wheeler-Nicholson (Tricia), Fernanda Urrejola (Becca), Anthony Gonzales (Omar), Nathan Arenas (Hollywood), Chris Doubek (Gary), Miguel Angel Garcia (Moco), Frank Gallegos (Officer Berto) and Silverio Gutierrez (Tweety).

Blue Miracle is now streaming on Netflix. *Adds to queue*
