ICYMI: Demi Lovato is engaged to her beau, Max Ehrich. If you feel blindsided by the surprise proposal, you’re not alone. Still, by the looks of the massive engagement ring, it’s clear that Ehrich did extremely well during the selection process.

Here’s everything we know about Demi Lovato’s engagement ring.

1. What does it look like?

The engagement ring features a huge emerald cut diamond that almost—we repeat, almost—takes up Lovato’s entire finger. It’s accented by trapezoid-shaped gems on both sides.

2. How big is it?

According to Kathryn Money (the senior vice president of merchandising and retail expansion at Brilliant Earth), Ehrich didn’t hold back on size.

“It features what appears to be an estimated 8 to 10 carat emerald cut diamond set on a platinum or white gold band,” she told PureWow. “The center diamond is framed by beautiful trapezoid-shaped accent diamonds estimated at 3/4 carats each, for a total carat weight of 9.5 to 11.5 carats.”

3. How much did it cost?

Well, it was a major investment (to say the least). Money added, “Depending on the quality and specific characteristics of the center gemstone, we estimate the ring’s cost is between $450,000 to $850,000+.” Cha-ching!

4. Is the ring on trend?

Absolutely. Money revealed that it’s not only a timeless style, but it’s also flattering.

“We’ve continued to see emerald cut engagement rings surge in popularity. In fact, you’ll see this shape adorn the fingers of celebrities including J.Lo, Jennifer Lawrence, Nikki Bella and Alex Guarnaschelli,” she explained. “Many opt for elongated diamonds—including emeralds, elongated cushions and ovals—as their shape offers a flattering look, lengthening the wearer’s finger. As we see delicate settings trending, the thicker band gives Demi’s ring a traditional, timeless touch.”

Well done, Max. Well done.
