Charles Spencer Shares Snap of His and Princess Diana’s Father from When He Was a Kid

Charles Spencer (AKA Princess Diana's younger brother) is always grabbing our attention with the number of history-filled throwbacks that he posts to his Instagram account. Whether it's a rare snap of Princess Diana's teenage home or a shot that captured his grandmother meeting the Queen Mother, the 9th Earl Spencer always seems to dig up interesting pics from the past. Now, his latest is a rare shot of his father, Edward John Spencer.

Earlier today, Spencer uploaded a black-and-white photograph to his Instagram Story that shows his and Princess Diana's father at a very young age. In his caption, he said, “My father (center) visiting Scotland in the late ’30s.”

In the throwback, the late earl towers over two other kids who stand at his sides, and he is seen smiling while wearing a suit. Given that the 8th Earl Spencer was born in 1924, it's safe to assume that he couldn't have been older than 15 when this photo was taken.

This isn't the only vintage photo that Spencer has shared to Instagram lately. Just a little over a week ago, the earl posted a newspaper clipping from 1966 that offered a rare look at his family, including the late Princess of Wales. In his caption he said, “A snapshot of family life in 1966.”

The clipping sees 5-year-old Princess Diana sitting in a toy car, watching as her younger brother dumps a bucket of sand on it. The pair are surrounded by their parents, as well as their two sisters, Lady Sarah McCorquodale and Jane Fellowes, Baroness Fellowes.

Charles never disappoints us with these throwbacks.
