Charles Spencer Posted a Heartfelt Tribute to His Late Mother on IG & We Almost Mistook Her for Princess Diana

Charles Spencer is no stranger to sharing throwback photos of his closest family members. In fact, in the past month alone, the 9th Earl Spencer has already shared never-before-seen shots of his sister, Princess Diana, and his grandfather, Albert Spencer. Add to that list, this new TBT featuring himself and his late mother Frances Shand Kydd.

On Thursday, the 57-year-old paid tribute to the anniversary of Kydd’s death by sharing a rare photograph of the mother-son duo enjoying a family day at the beach. “My mother and I on Brancaster beach, 55 years ago. She died 17 years ago today, aged 68,” he captioned the post on Instagram.

We’re not going to lie, we were immediately taken by the resemblance between the matriarch and Princess Diana. Everything from their bouncy blonde hair and bone structure to their eye shape is similar.

And we’re not the only ones who noticed. Spencer’s followers quickly addressed the likeness in the comments section of the post. One user wrote, “I often wonder what Princess Diana would look like now. Almost certainly like your mother. Ageless and graceful.” Another fan added, “Your mother was very beautiful. My sympathies. You lost her too young,” while a third post read, “Beautiful like Diana.”

This isn’t the first time Di’s younger brother shared an old shot of his mother. Back in January, he posted an old portrait of Kydd, which is framed and displayed in the library at Spencer’s childhood home, Althorp House.

Good genes definitely run in the Spencer fam.
