See Ya, Tree Hill: Chad Michael Murray Is Headed to Riverdale

It’s a Freaky Friday, indeed.

One Tree Hill alum Chad Michael Murray has joined the cast of CW’s Riverdale in a recurring role, according to Variety.

And it’s a sinister character, at that. On the surface, Murray’s character, Edgar Evernever, is a charming and handsome guru who shows up in Riverdale to “spread his teachings and heal the ravaged soul of the once-wholesome town.” He's the mysterious leader of the cult-like Farm that Betty’s (Lili Reinhart) mom and sister started to follow.

While it’s unclear when Murray will make his appearance on the show, we do know it’s been renewed for a fourth season. The third season is well underway, with Betty starting to uncover major Farm secrets, meaning we’ll most likely get a glimpse of Murray before season three is said and done.

Murray, who’s best known for his role as Lucas Scott from One Tree Hill, tweeted “#Evernever Hang on tight coz it’s gonna be a wild ride @CW_Riverdale @TheCW” after news broke on Friday.

A former CW heartthrob to star as a creepy cult leader? (Ever)never say never.
