9 Celebrities Who Could Officiate Your Wedding

When we found out that Adele officiated her friend’s wedding (and performed their first dance song), we couldn’t imagine a cooler way to exchange vows. But then, we discovered that there are actually plenty of A-listers who count officiating as their side hustle. Here, nine celebs we wouldn’t mind standing before us as we say “I do.”

10 of the Most Stunning Celebrity Wedding Dresses

Jimmy Kimmel

The late-night host is a wedding pro—he presided over Matt Damon and Luciana Barroso's St. Lucia vow renewals in 2013 and officiated for Justin Theroux and Jennifer Aniston’s backyard nuptials in 2015 (RIP). And while it’s usually the best man who roasts the groom, we’re willing to bet that this ceremony was full of hilarious digs, considering Damon and Kimmel’s longstanding (fake) feud.

Emma Stone

The La La Land star introduced her publicist, Holly Shakoor, to Gangster Squad director Ruben Fleischer, so it only made sense that she did the honors at their 2012 wedding in Ojai, California. Award-winning actress, beautiful location, loved up couple… the only thing that could have made this celebration even more perfect is if the rest of Stone’s squad scored an invite (ahem, including us).

Tom Hanks

When Girls actress Allison Williams wed entrepreneur Ricky Van Veen, she turned to her family friend Tom Hanks to conduct the ceremony. (Because, wouldn’t you?) “Well, here's what I did,” Hanks told Extra. “I studied the ministry for over $35. And if you want to call me the Right Reverend Tom Hanks, I think you should.” Extra cute factor? Hanks’s wife (Rita Wilson) also played Williams’s mom on the hit HBO show.

Sir Ian Mckellen

When your BFF is an acting legend whose voice oozes charisma, you’d be a fool not to ask him to marry you. Which is how Sir Ian found himself conducting the ceremony at his bestie Sir Patrick Stewart’s nuptials with jazz singer Sunny Ozell. Following the “I dos,” the X-Men star posted a photo of himself with a very fetching “Minister” shirt and a “Doctor of Divinity” certificate.

When New York state legalized same-sex marriage in 2011, the “Born This Way” singer got ordained so she could personally marry her friend and yoga instructor Tricia Donegan and her partner. What we wouldn’t give to see what she wore for the ceremony (something totally fabulous, we assume).

Jonah Hill

It turns out the Superbad actor is a longtime friend of Adam Levine, so it was only natural the he presided over the singer’s wedding to model Behati Prinsloo in 2014.

Benedict Cumberbatch

The Star Trek star had to miss San Diego’s Comic-Con in 2013 for a very good reason—he was busy officiating the wedding of his friends Seth Cummings and Rob Rinder in Ibiza. “I do weddings. Next will be children’s parties and bat mitzvahs,” Cumberbatch joked ahead of his gig. Hey, good to know.

Victor Garber

He played Jennifer Garner's TV dad in Alias, so of course he officiated her 2015 wedding with Ben Affleck in Turks and Caicos (RIP, again.) The actor is also godfather to the former spouse’s oldest daughter, Violet. Aww...

Queen Latifah

Deputized for just one day (apparently that’s a thing), Queen Latifah officiated the weddings of a whopping 33 couples at the 2014 Grammy Awards. This all went down during the performance of “Same Love,” performed by Macklemore, Ryan Lewis and Mary Lambert in support of same-sex marriage and equality. It also happened to be followed by a performance from the one and only Madonna. Kind of makes your friend’s nuptials seem a little lame, no?
