The country crooners took to Twitter to offer their love and support on Sunday, writing, “We are so sad to have had to cancel our show in Houston tonight. Last night, we played a show up the street in Dallas and all of our merch proceeds will [go] towards hurricane relief funds.” We tip our hats to you, Lady A.
In a statement published by The Houston Chronicle yesterday, Beyoncé announced that her philanthropic initiative, #BeyGood, will play a role in Hurricane Harvey relief. “I am working closely with my team at BeyGOOD, as well as my pastor (Rudy Rasmus at St. John's in downtown Houston), to implement a plan to help as many as we can.”
Sandra Bullock, aka the woman with the heart of gold, pledged $1 million today to help Houston families impacted by the catastrophic flooding get back on their feet. Bullock, who owns a home in Austin, said, “I'm just grateful I can do it. We have to take care of one another.” Bless your heart, Gracie Lou Freebush.
Coldplay originally had a concert scheduled in Houston last week but it was cancelled due to Harvey's wrath. The band showed their love for the city by writing and performing a new song, “Houston,” at their Miami, Florida, concert last night.
