The 39-year-old singer offered a long, heartfelt birthday wish to her younger sister, Jamie Lynn. Spears wrote about her relationship with the Zoey 101 star, saying, "Happy belated birthday to this beautiful soul !!! I love you so much and damn it I wish I was as smart as you at 30 !!!! It's weird to say that I was basically your momma when you were younger and yes I'm still older but your soul is and always has been wise !!!!"
The singer continued, "I’m truly and genuinely inspired by your path and the life you have created for your beautiful children and I'm so f**king proud to call someone as beautiful inside as you my sister !!!! And not only are you a beautiful soul you're so DAMN STRONG ... I was extremely taken back and still am to this very day !!!"
Spears then joked about their childhood wrestling matches, saying, "We play wrestled at home (such classy Southern chicks) and you put me to the floor in literally two seconds after I gave all my might … I’ll never forget it !!! Maybe we should have a rematch ... I mean things have changed since 6 years ago !!!!! PS I wish I was as strong as you and happy birthday !!!!"
In addition to plenty of (visible) excitement, Spears filled the caption with lots of laughing and kissing emojis. Jamie Lynn shared the post on her own Instagram story with two silver hearts and the twinning girls with bunny ears emoji.
The image features a young Jamie Lynn in some chic blue sunglasses, sitting next to Spears and her then-boyfriend, Justin Timberlake. The presence of the former *NSYNC member is notable, given that it comes two months after the singer apologized for the way he treated Spears in the past.
After a recent documentary highlighted many of the toxic factors of Spears's early stardom, Timberlake specifically called her out by name, saying, "I am deeply sorry for the times in my life where my actions contributed to the problem, where I spoke out of turn, or did not speak up for what was right." However, an insider told US Weekly that the singer harbored no bad feelings toward Timberlake and "She’s happy and happy for him.”
