Brie Larson isn’t a regular superhero; she’s the star of the first female-superhero-centered Marvel film (ahem, Captain Marvel). So, it should be no surprise that audiences flocked en mass to watch her get her save-the-world on when the film opened this weekend. But they weren’t the only ones eager to see Captain Marvel in theaters.

The 29-year-old Oscar winner popped into a New Jersey theater on Saturday dressed in a Captain Marvel tracksuit and surprised everyone by working the concession stand and posing for pics.

She served popcorn! She poured soda! She even enjoyed a fountain drink with her face on it!

Larson joked in one clip, “I just heard that I was on the cups and popcorn and I wanted to see for myself.”

Larson’s new movie introduces Captain Marvel/Carol Danvers (Larson), a half human, half Kree warrior who gets together with Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) and becomes the universe’s most powerful hero. In the film, a galactic war between two different kinds of aliens reaches Earth, and it’s up to Captain Marvel and friends to keep the world safe at all costs.

As expected, the movie enjoyed a super lucrative opening weekend, grossing $154 million in ticket sales. Captain Marvel didn’t quite meet the $156 to $160 million earnings projection, but it did become Marvel’s fifth biggest preview opening (aka Thursday night showing) of all time.

Between the free popcorn and soda and owning the box office, it looks like all those grueling workouts really paid off, huh Brie?
