It’s no secret that movies would be far less convincing if they didn’t have sound effects.

Tonight, Hollywood’s biggest stars gathered at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles for the 91st annual Academy Awards. During the ceremony, Bohemian Rhapsody took home the award for Best Sound Editing.

The film was up against Black Panther, First Man, A Quiet Place and Roma.

While the Best Sound Editing category was first introduced back in 1964, it used to be called Best Sound Effects and Best Sound Effects Editing. Previous winners include Dunkirk, Arrival, Mad Max: Fury Road, American Sniper, Gravity, Zero Dark Thirty, Skyfall, Hugo and Inception.
