You Go, Girl: Benefit Cosmetics Just Hired Its First Brand Ambassador with Down Syndrome

Today in heartwarming beauty news: Benefit Cosmetics Ireland recently cast Kate Grant, a 20-year-old Irish model with Down syndrome, as the face of the new Roller Liner liquid eyeliner.

That makes Grant the brand’s first ambassador with Down syndrome. *Praise hands emoji*

Speaking with Metro, Grant’s mom, Deidre, praised her daughter for paving the way for other people with disabilities. “Kate is aware of that and wants to spread awareness about inclusion for people with disabilities and that is what she has done from the very start,” she told the paper, adding, “She is aware that she is able to do that in a way some of her friends cannot. She is using her voice for them.”

This isn’t the first time Grant has made history. She made headlines last August when she became the first woman with Down syndrome to win an international beauty pageant: Teen Ultimate Beauty of the World.

Congrats, Kate!
