Former Bachelor Ben Higgins Is Engaged to Jessica Clarke

Remember former Bachelor Ben Higgins? Well, he’s officially off the market…again.

The 31-year-old just announced that he’s engaged to his longtime girlfriend, Jessica “Jess” Clarke. Higgins was supposed to pop the question during the New York City leg of his The Bachelor: Live on Stage tour. However, due to coronavirus restrictions, the Generous Coffee co-founder was forced to switch gears, since he and Clarke are quarantined at her parents’ house in Franklin, Tennessee.

“I went back to a pond behind her house, and we had set it up with sunflowers near a bench,” he told Entertainment Tonight. “It’s right in their backyard, but a little hidden. I proposed and her family and mine were watching from a distance, and then we all celebrated together.”

Higgins originally starred on season 20 of The Bachelor, where he proposed to Lauren Bushnell. (The couple called it quits one year later.) Although it wasn’t his first proposal, Higgins admitted that it was still nerve-wracking.

“I was super nervous,” he added. “She’s my best friend, my partner and I love her. I was nervous to kind of do this whole thing in front of her. I wasn’t anxious, it’s just a big moment!”

Clarke documented the proposal on Instagram (slideshow above) and wrote, “I don’t remember everything you said, but I know that I said yes. I woke up in a dream today and I get to live in this dream every day from now on (eeeep).”

Higgins commented on the post, writing, “That dude is so lucky. Am I right?”

The Bachelor alum proposed with an oval diamond set on a gold band. According to Kathryn Money, SVP of Merchandising & Retail Expansion for Brilliant Earth, the ring is around 2.5 carats and costs anywhere between $30,000 to $50,000.

Congratulations, you two.
