Amanda Seyfried Had the Worst Wardrobe Malfunction (& Glen Powell Came to Her Rescue)

The Mean Girls alum then explained how it all went downhill after she bumped into Powell. She said, “I was talking to Glen Powell in the corner near my table, and we were joking around about something and I lifted my arms up, and my boobs were just out. My dress fell apart.”

Fortunately for Seyfried, Powell handled the situation quickly and like a gentleman. She added, “We both screamed, and like the gentleman he is, he covered me. He didn’t look…I think. None of us were expecting that, but that dress had truly just given up.”

That year, Seyfried won the award for Best Actress in a Limited Series for her role in The Dropout. The show also won in the Best Limited Series category, and when the cast appeared on stage, Seyfried had to cover herself with a black jacket. She said, “I ended up wearing someone else's jacket on stage. Because, well, it would’ve just been my boobs.”

FYI, in addition to her Critics' Choice Award, Seyfried's performance in The Dropout—which dramatizes the true story of biotech entrepreneur Elizabeth Holmes—also earned her an Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress and a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actress.

While accepting her Critics' Choice Award, she said in her speech, "This is amazing, I'm overwhelmed with being able to celebrate this show like this. I'm really proud of it. I want to thank the Critics' Choice Association because your reaction to what we made results in this, and that's pretty cool. I just want to thank my Dropout crew, I mean, it's just been such a ride. [Elizabeth] Meriwether created it, she's a one-of-a-kind, and Michael Showalter, who led us into production. Thank you so much."
