Back in May, I had the privilege of speaking with the one and only Dolly Parton about her new line of Southern-inspired frozen dinners. After chatting about her cooking habits and go-to dishes (spoiler: her favorite condiment is butter), I soon learned that she also released a line of frozen desserts. Of course, I had to track them down and taste them myself.

Below, you’ll find original photos, honest feedback and a personal ranking of all three options, which range from a chocolatey spin on Southern chess pie to a bake-and-serve fruit cobbler that’s fit for your next barbecue. Read on for a food editor’s takes.

3. Decadent Chocolate Pie

  • What It Is: fudgy chocolate filling in flaky pastry crust, finished with powdered sugar
  • Price: from $9

One of two no-bake Dolly Parton desserts, it looked like a brownie in a pie crust at first glance. With Southern chess pie as its alleged inspiration, I expected it to look glossier and more custardy on the top. However, once sliced, it had all the gooiness that I’d anticipated. Fudgy and just a touch salty, the filling tasted nearly identical to unbaked brownie batter. I could only stomach a small sliver, but true chocolate fanatics may feel otherwise.

2. Family-Size Biscuit Batter Peach Cobbler

  • What It Is: juicy peaches backed with brown sugar and cinnamon, covered with tender biscuit batter
  • Price: from $9

Sure, it requires an hour and change of baking, then a 30-minute cooldown—but hey, good things come to those who wait. The peaches were stunningly sweet-tart but could have been more plentiful in the brown sugar-y, cinnamony sauce. I loved how caramelized and sticky the lacy edges of the sauce turned. The biscuit topping was pretty neutral in flavor. Its texture on top was crisp and browned, but underneath, it was soft and cakey.

1. Original Whipped Cheesecake

  • What It Is: fluffy whipped cream cheese filling with buttermilk in a graham cracker crust with a touch of molasses
  • Price: from $9

This thaw-and-serve treat tasted similar to the no-bake cheesecakes you’ve likely had in the past. Creamy, tangy and surprisingly light, I enjoyed this pick most for its tart edge (thanks, sour cream, buttermilk and cream cheese) and balanced saltiness. The graham cracker crust offered a delicious foil to the sweet filling, and it was crumbly and buttery without being brittle or flimsy. I loved the slight grittiness of its texture, too.
