Zara Dresses
PureWow/Zara

It’s no secret that I’m a big fan of Zara. My obsession with the clothing store started when I was pretty young, when my mom came back from a trip to Spain with local gifts in tow from the Spanish retailer. Fast forward a few years later, and its migrated across the globe and quickly become one of the most popular brands to shop that’s reasonably affordable and has a ton of variety—just wait until you get a hold of the spring collection.

When it comes to Zara, I even know some of the best shopping hacks that’ll save you time, money and maybe even your sanity, especially if you’re confused with how their sizing works. Hacks aside, Zara’s new releases are *everything,* especially the dresses. I’m talking polka dot numbers, floral midis, butter yellow pieces and more. Don’t worry, I’ve spared you the headache of sifting through hundreds of items on their site by narrowing the picks down myself. Here, 14 of the best Zara dresses on the market, from cotton poplin shirtdresses for everyday wear to formal gowns for special occasions.

There’s a reason why polka dots never go out of style, people—the print is classy, timeless and supremely elegant. Just take a look at this sleeveless midi dress, which is made from a linen blend and you’ll see all of that and more embodied in its design. It has a gorgeous high neckline and stunning A-line silhouette that gently flows into a flared hem at the bottom of the skirt. There’s even a zip closure hidden at the back so you can easily slip it on.

Come summer, all I want to be swathed in is a comfortable and breathable cotton material. Thankfully, this dress is comprised of 95 percent cotton. The other five percent? Yeah, that’s stretchy elastane. Apart from its fabrication, this dress has a stunning design, from its drop-waist silhouette to its cut-out detail in the front of the bodice. So while it may look pretty simple with its ecru colorway, it’s anything but in reality.

If you’re looking for the perfect summer wedding guest dress, then allow me to introduce you to this stunner. The strapless dress comes in a fiery red hue that’ll pop against beachy sceneries, garden landscapes, courthouse backdrops and anywhere else. I’m obsessed with how the floral embellishments embroidered into the fabric at the bustline turns this from an ordinary dress into a statement piece.

Everything about this satin beauty from Zara screams engagement dress. The fabric is nice and shiny, so you know it’ll photograph like a dream, and it has the most adorable bow details at the start of the thin straps in the front that truly makes this so special. I don’t know who needs to hear this, but you don’t have to be a soon-to-be bride to enjoy it either—I’d wear it to an al fresco dinner on vacation.

Forget about satin slip dresses, this ruffled dress from Zara is the way to go. Made from a blend of viscose and cotton, this V-neck dress has the versatility you’d get from a slip dress, but with a bit more flirty playfulness, thanks to the ruffles throughout. As good as it looks in the pictures, it’s the type of dress that’ll look even better in movement.

There’s nothing quite like a breezy shirtdress on a summery day, and this one, complete with lapels at the neckline, rolled-up sleeves and patch pockets, from Zara proves it. It’s available in this muted khaki colorway, which has undertones of a mossy green, as well as an indigo blue and a classic blue and white striped. The waistband is elastic (hello, stretchiness), and there’s a raffia-style belt to cinch it all in.

Sometimes less is more, like this elevated T-shirt dress. It boasts a round neck, short sleeves and soft, cotton fabric that you’ll want to live in all season long. But what makes this piece so unique is its asymmetrical  hemline that’ll break up the frock, elongate the body and make it nice and functional for everyday wear.

If flowy frocks are more your speed, then you’ll fall head over heels for this midi dress. It has an easy, voluminous shape that’ll be so nice to throw over a bathing suit, and an eyelet embroidered detail in various areas of the fabric that almost makes it feel more like a work of art rather than a basic black dress. Plus, the thin straps tie daintily at the back, letting you adjust it to fit your shoulders comfortably.

Scarf dresses? Yeah, they’re still very much a thing, like this sultry green midi. It has adjustable straps, a round neckline, a zipper at the side hidden in the seam, flattering ruching throughout and is also lined. In other words, it pretty much has almost everything you can want out from a formal dress.

This mini dress and all of its buttery yellow goodness is everything to me, especially since I’ve been on a boho kick as of late. The ruffle trim at the neckline coupled with its flared, flowy nature is giving major Chloé vibes. My only qualm is that the spaghetti straps are quite thin, so strapless bra it is, and not adjustable. Pair it with a clog to really channel the modern take on bohemian style.

There’s a lot I love about this pick perfect for maximalists. Take, for instance, how it’s made with 100 percent cotton and comes printed with a vibrant floral motif—that’s high-quality chicness right there. Plus, there are a ton of little details throughout that are not to be missed, like bow ties at the sleeves, a fabric belt at the waist that matches the print of the dress and hidden pockets.

On the other hand, if you identify as more of a minimalist, this elegant Zara pick might be more your style. Don’t be fooled into thinking this is a two-piece set because it is, in fact, one dress that’s made up of an overlay bodice that has a slight peplum silhouette and straight skirt. Not to mention, it has a strapless cut that’ll put your décolletage on display, and a linen blend that’s ideal for warmer months. Go ahead and wear it on repeat—I won’t tell.

Date night, engagement party, birthday dinner....this chic maxi dress is the piece you’ll want to wear to every event, no matter the occasion. It boasts a 3D floral appliqué at the chest, just where the V-neck dips that’s bound to start a conversation and garner plenty of compliments. It’s also lined, too, so you don’t have to worry about it being see-through. (Phew!)

Mini (check), ruffles (check), tassels (check). This dress has it all—it’s sweet, flattering, comfy and modest despite its short length. The sleeves have elastic cuffs, so you can hike it up your arm without having to roll it up for a more lived-in look, and it won’t fall back down. I have a feeling it’ll be one of those easy, breezy dresses that you’ll reach for on the daily, thanks to its versatile nature and casual-but-cute feel.
