Winter is all about maximum warmth for me. Forget being fashionableI’d rather wear a sleeping bag and leave my house without regrets. But lately I’m finding there are ways to be cute and still prevent my face from freezing off. Below, I’ve curated my ten favorite Walmart winter fashion items to help in that department, ranging from satin pajamas for snow days to sweater dresses and yoga pants that look like office attire. And the best part? Everything’s under $45. Weather- and wallet-friendly—what's not to love?

Winter means one thing to me, and one thing only: pajamas. I love a silk pajama set as much as the next person, but silk doesn’t come cheap. That’s why I’ve enjoyed satin as a more affordable alternative. This matching set comes in 18 colors and has a smart collar, contrasting piping, breast pocket and elastic waist. A smidge of spandex keeps the fabric stretchy and comfortable—great for lounging around the house, though I’d also totally wear these to a pajama party.

When I’m not living in loungewear, the second best thing I can hope for is a sweater—preferably a sweater dress. It’s a whole outfit that looks fabulous and requires little, if any, thought. This ribbed number falls to your shins for maximum coverage, with an adjustable tie belt to accentuate your waist. As someone who runs extremely cold, I’m a big fan of the longer sleeves and big, generous turtleneck.

Some of my winter closet staples are simple sweaters that will pair with anything. Crazy pants, jeans, skirts—bonus points if you can tuck the fabric a little bit. The buttery caramel hue of this relaxed knit caught my eye, striking a delicate balance of classic neutral with a hint of pastel, which is so trendy right now. As a finishing detail, there’s a bit of a sailor collar happening in the back.

4. Sofia by Sofia Vergara Marisol Jeans

Sofia by Sofia Vergara

Modern Family star Sofia Vergara is bringing back skinny jeans with her denim line at Walmart. When I first heard the cut was coming back around, I was skeptical...but over the past year, I’ve seen them more and more on the streets of New York. Vergara’s Marisol jeans aren’t too tight, with more of a straight leg cut that’s form-fitting through the knees—perfect for easing yourself back into the style. The high-rise denim has a touch of spandex for some comfortable stretch, while still looking polished.

Finding a 100 percent cotton sweater was a delight, and I can see this boxy-in-a-Chanel-way cardigan being a transitional staple in late winter. The tweed-like textured knit feels classic while adding visual interest, but it scores the most points with me for being machine-washable and easy to layer. Plus, it comes in 20 colors.

It’s always a good day when the pants you want to wear (read: comfy) are also office appropriate. These wide-leg trousers fit the bill, complete with smart pleats and pockets. The cotton-blend pants contain some spandex to give them that yoga-pant feel while staying professional. You can pair them with a sweatshirt as easily as you could a blouse.

I love this take on the simple crewneck cardigan with the addition of ruffles on the hems. It leans into the babydoll aesthetic while remaining distinctly bookish. There are 13 colors of the style to choose from, including dusty pastels and staple neutrals, and multiple reviewers call out how soft the knit is. Pro tip: I style my button-up cardigans slightly unbuttoned at the bottom as pictured; it creates a nice shape and feels a bit unexpected.

While I love the look of layered pieces, I don’t always love how it feels. Cramped. Stuffy. Restraining. Several iterations of this V-neck henley sweater solve that problem, thanks to contrasting hems and collars that give the illusion of layered clothes without the required tucking and wrestling. The seven colors offer both solid and patterned iterations in some combination of white. I’d wear this with some jeans—true blue denim or a white pair.

The year I bought myself a pair of palazzo pants was a good one. They’re so swishy, feel professional (it’s the darts), but also give you plenty of space to move around. No bodycon here! This pair has the added bonus of an elastic back waistband. Pop on a belt and pair of heels, and call it done.

Something you can never have too many of is a white button-down. If you don’t believe me, ask your French-girl-next-door or Meghan Markle. As someone who has personally spent $100+ on a single shirt, I can say that $10 is a steal. This blouse has a satin sheen, with a slim cut and classic V-neck that make it easy to wear with jeans, skirts or trousers.
