The older I get, the more I value efficiency—I love a product that can multitask. A robot that mops and vacuums? Yes, please. A blender that turns into a travel cup? I’ll take it. A shoe that looks like a dainty Mary Jane but functions as a sneaker? That’s a no-brainer. So allow me to introduce you to the Vivaia Ivee Walker Pro ($159; $119), a two-in-one style that’s become my go-to this season.

When it comes to creating hybrid footwear that can step up to any sitch, Vivaia has a proven track record—including in my own closet. The brand’s water-repellant Sneaker Boots were a total lifesaver this past (particularly wet and slushy) winter. With warmer weather upon us, I’ve swapped ‘em out for these comfy kicks. Even if Mary Jane sneakers weren’t one of spring 2026’s hottest shoe trends, I’d still reach for them on repeat. The fact that the silhouette happens to be en vogue at the moment? A nice bonus, though not one that outshines these babies’ comfort and practicality.

After racking up thousands of steps since trying them last fall, here’s my full review of the Vivaia Ivee Walker Pro Mary Jane sneakers.

What Are the Vivaia Walker Pro Mary Jane Sneakers?

Vivaia

Designed for walking—whether for short distances or all-day adventures—this style combines the comfort of a sneaker with the shape (and strap) of a Mary Jane flat. There are multiple versions of the shoe available in different fabrics and configurations. Here, I’m focusing on the Ivee Walker Pro Re-Nylon, which features a pillowy-soft recycled nylon upper and a single Velcro strap.

Fast Facts

  • Size Range: 5 to 11
  • Heel Height: 1.2 inches
  • Upper: recycled nylon
  • Outsole: EVA foam and rubber
  • Colorways: 5

They’re Lightweight and Comfortable

Vivaia

One of the first things I noticed when I slipped these on is how incredibly lightweight they feel. I’ve been attending beginner ballet classes (one of the reasons I was drawn to these initially—hello, balletcore!) and the Walker Pros feel only slightly heftier on my feet than the slippers I wear in the studio, and nearly as flexible. I almost have to stop myself from leaping down the sidewalk in them.

Then there’s the recycled nylon upper, which is soft both inside and out, including the strap. It gently hugs my foot, so there’s no tightness or digging in my regular size 7. I actually just wore these after breaking in another shoe that gave me some pretty rough blisters, and they felt like instant relief.

They’re Supportive But Still Grounding

Vivaia

I have rather high arches, so finding a flat shoe with sufficient arch support has always been a struggle. But the Walker Pro Mary Jane sneakers are constructed with dual arch support and curve slightly to meet the foot, which makes a noticeable difference. They also feature a unique honeycomb insole and EVA outsole that cushion each step without feeling too padded. Instead of walking on what feels like bricks of foam, these soften every step while still allowing me to feel the ground, which some studies show can help strengthen your foot and improve balance. The result? A springy, energetic stride I can keep for hours.

They’re Super Versatile

As I mentioned, these shoes mainly won me over for their multitasking functionality. Their slim, sleek profile makes them a suitable choice to style with dresses, jeans and skirts, just like a classic flat, while their comfort-forward construction feels closer to an athletic shoe. If you’ve ever carried an extra pair of shoes for your commute, consider these the ultimate one-and-done.

Of course, the Walker Pros also boast some sporty touches—like the rubber sole and mixed-media accents—which make them perfect for more athleisure-leaning looks. I’ve donned them to and fro my workout classes (ballet included) with leggings, joggers and running shorts. The style can effortlessly adapt.

Bottom Line: Are the Vivaia Walker Pro Mary Jane Sneakers Worth It?

What I Like

  • lightweight
  • good arch support
  • balanced cushioning
  • machine-washable

What I Don't Like

  • not suitable for intense activities or workouts

Vivaia

I’m a big walker—I don’t own a car—so I put in plenty of steps each day. For my everyday excursions, these hybrid kicks have put a noticeable pep in my step. Their comfort was clear from the first moment I put them on, and they’ve never chafed or caused me any blisters. Considering I usually wear them barefoot, that’s saying something. Although I haven’t tested them in sweltering summer temps, they've kept my feet cool and dry through the unpredictable fall and spring seasons. As a bonus, they’re machine-washable, so you can keep them fresh, even in lighter hues.

Now, I wouldn’t recommend the Walker Pro Mary Janes for high-energy activities. They’ve worked fine for the occasional sprint to catch the bus, but I wouldn’t choose them for running or cardio sessions. But if you’re seeking a shoe that’s as cute as it is practical for time spent on your feet (a walking tour on vacation included), I highly recommend them. Vivaia, you did it again.
