Is it me, or did it suddenly get chilly outside? Yep, we're not imagining things. Fall is in full swing, and winter is right around the corner, which means it is, indeed, time for coat and jacket season. I’ve long been a fan of Quince for the quality, style and affordability. As usual, the retailer has plenty of picks that will automatically enhance your wardrobe, while also keeping you warm and cozy. I, along with five of my PureWow colleagues, recently tested four coat options from the brand, and needless to say, we loved them, wearing our coats to different events and in different climates. Read on to check out our experiences.

I’m a sucker for a long trench coat, and I adore this Italian wool number because it looks like a coat that could easily fall between the $500 to $1,000 price range, yet it’s *only* $175! I prefer longer coats because they are incredibly versatile, and you don’t really have to do much as far as styling, because the coat steals the show. I’ve worn this coat with jeans, leather leggings and even joggers, and I love that it has an elevated feel, but it’s still relaxed enough to wear for a quick coffee run or grocery store run. At the same time, all you need is a nice pair of pants and leather boots, and you have a vava voom look for a date night or a girls night out. Plus, it feels amazing.

PureWow’s Affiliate Director Pamela Masin can’t get enough of this puffer. "At just under 5'2, finding a long down jacket that actually hits mid-calf has been more difficult than expected. But the search is over now, thanks to this Quince coat," she notes, adding, "The length of this puffer is perfect for petites, and the construction has plenty of puff, but is somewhat structured, so it doesn't overwhelm a small frame. Beyond nailing the look, Quince didn't skimp on the small details that really make a winter coat truly functional. Two features I absolutely love are the adjustable hood and built-in gloves—two things that will keep me warm during Maine winters."

Associate Commerce Editor Natalie LaBarbera tested this quilted puffer coat and has nothing but great things to say about it. "I really love the easy style of this jacket that pairs well with anything from a workout set to jeans, and it's the perfect weight now that it's starting to get down into the 50s at night near the coast in LA. I've also noticed that it folds up really easily, which will make it great when I'm headed for even colder weather around the holidays. The only downside is it does fit a bit tight in the shoulders, so I don't have room for thicker layers underneath. If you do want a bit more room, I'd definitely suggest going up a size from your usual. But what is super roomy is the pockets—they have plenty of space for my phone to feel secure, and you could definitely fit gloves or an ear warmer band easily inside, too."

Senior Commerce Editor Stephanie Maida has had this coat on her radar, and finally got the opportunity to add it to her closet. "I'd been dying to jump on the scarf-jacket trend, so I was immediately sold when I saw this number (at this price point) at Quince. As soon as I slipped it on, I knew it was worth it. The merino wool has a luxuriously soft brushed finish, and despite being quite thick and warm, never feels too hot or suffocating (a credit, too, to its airy silhouette). The embroidered stitch details are lovely, and the patch pockets are BIG—my phone and wallet slip right in without any risk of toppling out. But, of course, the real draw is the attached scarf, which ensures I never leave home without one. It's ultra wide, soft against my sensitive neck area, and looks good even when it's not tossed over my shoulder."
