In a press release, Gurung revealed that iMPOWER has been a long time coming. “As both a designer and entrepreneur, I have always used my voice to create change and progress by supporting my community and amplifying important conversations around global issues. I am excited to expand upon this mission with the launch of iMPOWER: a socially minded brand with a focus on intention, positivity and philanthropy,” he said. “I created this brand to engage in a dialogue with new audiences and look forward to sharing my message of unity and hope through uplifting and ‘impowering’ collections.”
Although the face masks are the first of many collections for iMPOWER, the goal is to produce items that “exude optimism and hope and feature a philanthropic component that has clear intention and depth.”
