Credit to Meghan Markle: Her coat game on day one of the Invictus Games Vancouver Whistler 2025 One Year to Go events was strong. First, there was the Calvin Klein puffer. Then, later that evening, the Duchess of Sussex stepped out in a stunning Doen style called the ‘Kensington’ ($598). You can peep the duchess donning the style on the newly revamped Sussex.com website.

The bad news? This particular coat sold out in an instant. (The royal Sussex effect is real.) The good news? We found a few striking alternatives, including one from Zara ($129).

What’s unique about the Doen version is its mod 1960s-inspired fit. We also love the button detailing and above-the-knee cut. While Meghan paired the coat with a pant, we love how it’s styled on Doen’s actual site—atop a flowy polka dot dress worn with sheer tights and flats. (Doen, if you’re reading, please restock.) In the meantime, we scouted a few lookalikes so you can replicate Meghan’s look.

It’s the silhouette and length of this particular style that so closely mirrors Meghan’s Invictus coat.

As far as elegance goes, this coat is a perfect match.

OK, so it’s not a coat per se, but this cute coat dress could easily be worn over a pant—and would be a lovely alternative to Meghan’s Doen style.

About last night and the occasion that Meghan chose to wear her Doen coat to: It was for a tour of the Squamish Lil’wat Cultural Centre, a First Nations museum and art gallery. (For reference, the First Nations is a term used to identify Indigenous peoples in Canada who are descendants of its original inhabitants and lived there for thousands of years, before the arrival of European explorers, according to People.)

Following the tour, the couple attended a reception where the artists who created the Invictus Games Vancouver Whistler 2025 logo debuted their designs.

What will Meghan wear next? We can’t wait to see.
