It started with the rise of the colorful canvas tote bags. Lands’ End’s beloved open-top totes were suddenly everywhere a few summers back, some embroidered with funny sayings in place of classic monograms, others decked out with patches from all over the world. I’d been an avid LE shopper throughout high school, but through the years it had fallen off my radar as some place to pick up anything other than dependable winter coats. But I’m here to tell you, if you’re not checking out the Lands’ End fall clothing options then you are truly missing out.

Not only does LE offers tons of styles in plus, petite and tall sizes, it also has a phenomenal range of both supremely classic silhouettes (cashmere cardigans, barn jackets, corduroy pants) and trendier pieces (like rugby knits and cropped trenches). Part sweater, part jacket, this posh cardigan is the easiest way to dress up a simple ‘fit. The structured cut (which is still super comfortable, I might add) lends a posh vibe to loose jeans or a simple midi skirt, and reportedly holds its shape really well through multiple wears and washes. It’s currently available in five chic neutral hues, but I’m definitely partial to the navy-and-white stripes above for a bolder look.

2. Lands’ End Cutwork Midi Dress

Lands’ End has an incredibly cute lineup of dresses, but I’m currently obsessing over this adorable midi. The gathered neckline is oh-so chic and goes just low enough to feel cool without showing too much skin. The A-line silhouette is also incredibly flattering, plus there are pockets for small essentials, but the thing that really made me fall head-over-heels in love is the cutwork detailing along the hem. It’s just subtle enough to require a double take, but really elevates the dress to feel special.

This classic cashmere turtleneck has a fitted (but not too tight!) cut and comes in tons of colors, so it's definitely a great staple to pick up on sale to add to your wardrobe this fall. It's available in standard, petite, tall and plus sizes and runs true-to-size, according to reviewers. Plus, if you want to make it special to you, you can add on some personalized embroidery of up to ten text characters or one of the brand's cute designs.

4. Lands’ End Soft Denim Relaxed Barrel-Leg Jeans

The barrel-leg denim trend isn’t going away any time soon, so if you’ve yet to hop on the bandwagon, I highly suggest doing so with this super-comfortable pair from Lands’ End. Available in the light wash pictured above as well as a darker blue, these jeans are wonderfully soft yet still offer enough rigidity to feel durable and maintain that arced shape. Reviewers say these jeans fit true to size, and while they are available in petite lengths, LE has yet to release this style in plus sizes (fingers crossed that happens soon).

I don’t know about you, but I’ve become somewhat obsessed with rugby shirts in the past few weeks (call it the Ilona Maher effect). This cozy knit version is a perfect autumn twist on the trend that I’ll likely get more use out of than my lighter cotton styles. And there are so many different stripe options to choose from! And all come with a contrasting starched white collar, a staple of the classic rugby. As for sizing, this pullover is designed for a roomy fit, and while some reviewers say it fits true to size, others (including multiple petite shoppers) advise sizing down when ordering.

Another top trend of fall 2025 is denim, and I don’t just mean jeans. Denim dresses, vests, shirts, jackets and even skirts are equally as cool this season, which is precisely why I have my eyes set on this chic denim midi dress. The design is supremely classic, though that ring buckle belt adds a slight ‘70s vibe I adore, so I know I can style this beauty for years to come. Right now it comes only in the one dark blue wash but it is available in both petite and plus sizes. And reviewers say the fit is both comfortable and flattering.

The fabric is water resistant on both sides to keep you feeling cozy and dry through smaller rain storms. And while the brand does suggest this jacket can keep you warm in temperatures as low as 17°F, the slim silhouette makes it ideal for layering under a more substantial topper in truly cold conditions.

The fabric offers just enough stretch to make sitting and walking as comfortable as standing around, and reviewers say it’s surprisingly good at repelling wrinkles too. The straight cut is accented by two cargo pockets, one on either side, as well as two welt pockets in back and two slant pockets for your hands. As for how to style this cutie? A thin turtleneck top, boho blouse or chunky mockneck sweater will all compliment the utilitarian vibes quite nicely.

It comes in six solid hues and two different stripes, all of which feel supremely elevated and chic. Layer this top with a traditional suit for the workday, tucked into some leather trousers for drinks with a friend or with the cargo maxi skirt above and some easy kicks for Saturday at the farmers’ market.

This wide-leg cut gives just the right amount of retro without feeling costumey, especially if you opt for a less traditional color like the gorgeous dusty indigo above. And with three inseam lengths to choose from, you can feel confident wearing this straight away without necessitating a visit to the tailor. To balance out that wider leg, I suggest wearing these beauties with more fitted tops or tucking in more voluminous blouses.

Cropped trench coats are the latest jacket trend to take NYC by storm, but I appreciate that this take isn’t too short—a trench is meant to be practical outerwear, after all. It has all the tenets of a traditional trench with the shoulder epaulettes, double-breasted front and back yoke for ventilation, and is made of a water-repellant, windproof fabric designed to handle the elements in style. Choose from pale beige, pine green or latte brown.

If you’ve never tried Lands’ End’s cashmere, you’re in for a treat. The brand’s cashmere knits are oh-so dreamy, never itchy and last beautifully with minimal pilling over multiple seasons of wear. This cardigan is about as classic as it gets, and comes in 14 gorgeous colors, including two stripes. And while you certainly can’t go wrong with dove gray, heathered brown or deep sea navy, I can’t help but return to this trendy peridot hue as a fun and unexpected pop in my fall capsule wardrobe.
