As a royal watcher, I’ve shopped many a Kate Middleton look over the years, from her mint green dress from Self-Portrait to her mustard yellow dress from Karen Millen. (I love them both so much.) But there was a royally-approved piece that got away from me and one she last wore in 2021: A pink scallop-neck sweater from Boden. The good news? Boden just re-issued a similar version ($129; $77) and it’s giving Princess Diana vibes.

The sweater—called the Milena—is made in soft cotton with a touch of wool. It also comes in a more muted pink, but it’s the neckline that, like the first iteration, immediately caught my eye. It almost looks like the original scallop neckline in reverse. But the added flourish is also reminiscent of the Peter Pan or ruffly collars, long favored by Diana and quite popular in the 1980s.

Of course, this updated style from Boden is much more modern and understated than the oversize collar flaps of that particular decade. But it strikes a similar aesthetic and adds visual interest while still feeling delicate and romantic. I can totally picture Princess Catherine wearing it to a royal engagement or to an off-duty weekend in the countryside, paired with royal denim, too.

The only challenge? If we really want to make like Kate and mirror her original 2021 ensemble, worn to a London-based school, then we need a coat to match. TBQH, this bow coat, $435—also from Boden—doesn’t feel too far off.
