It’s official: Season 5 of Emily in Paris (or Rome, shall we say?) is at long last available to stream on Netflix. As a longtime watcher, I of course care about the plotlines—especially the ones involving the elegant and effortless Sylvie, played by Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu—but the fashion, oh la la. Juxtaposed with the prettiest and most polished version of Paris we ever did see, it’s hard not to delight in (and want to dissect) every single over-the-top look. That’s why, upon first glimpse of the most recent season, I bring you my top five sartorial moments, plus a promise: No spoilers!

1. An Iconic French Girl Green
When I first saw this green-and-white striped blazer on Emily (played by Lily Collins), I couldn’t help but consider this equally becoming—and decidedly French—button-up from Sézane. This iteration of green feels straight off the runways for major Parisian-based fashion houses, such as Dior, with Emily not only nailing the color scheme, but also pattern mixing. (You’ll have to watch episode one to see the full look—from designers Sebline and Claudie Pierlot—on display.) As for how to copy it? Pretty much any infusion of this kelly green hue fits the bill.

2. Asymmetrical Dresses
Emily’s not the only one to don this particular silhouette; Sylvie is pictured wearing a dress with an asymmetrical neckline, too—a sartorial similarity I noticed as I binged season five. In fact, any neckline that adds visual interest and a bit of creative architecture (think one-shoulder cuts or diagonal angles) has been all the rage for 2025. It’s also incredibly flattering.

3. So Many Shades of Orange
When in Rome, as the saying goes. But seriously, Aperol spritz, Portofino orange, however you want to describe it, this season of Emily in Paris is chock full of the bold and vibrant color trend. (In 2025, it felt summer-specific, but be it neon or tangerine-tinted, if you peep the 2026 runways, this is a hue that’s here to stay.)

4. Polka Dots
Polka dots—whether petite or pronounced—are a style trend that is here to stay. That’s why it’s especially fun to see Emily’s embrace of it, presenting a boldfaced take on the familiar pattern. Should you choose to wear them, a tip: Daintier dots tend to be more universally flattering, but a bigger print—on a timeless silhouette such as Emily’s sleeveless shirt—is certainly more show-stopping.

5. A Disco-Inspired Collar
John Travolta wore them well, but we love Emily’s softer and more feminine version of the “disco collar,” which speaks to the recent 70s-inspired revival of several key looks from that decade. Against her blue floral blazer, Emily’s tomato red shirt is quite eye-catching, but it’s also pretty—and gives us all permission to feel more confident mixing and matching the range of technicolor hues in our closet.
