Christina Aguilera Channeled the Ladies of the Royal Family in a Red & Magenta Gown

Christina Aguilera’s reflection at last week’s Mulan premiere reminded us an awful lot of the ladies of the royal family.

The 39-year-old Grammy winner borrowed a tried-and-true royal color combination from Meghan Markle, Princess Diana and Queen Elizabeth for the Hollywood red carpet of the Disney remake. Yup, that’s right, she tried out super bold color-blocking, with a hint of red.

The “Beautiful” singer donned a magenta and red silk Galia Lahav wrap gown with an exaggerated bow detail at the waist for the premiere. She accessorized the frock with Stephen Webster Jewelry magnipheasant feather long earrings in 18-carat white gold with black spinels and white diamond pave, as well as the Jennifer Fisher Jewelry JF silver essential ear cuff ($90). She completed the look with Gina Couture red latex thigh-high boots (which she owns in both black and red) and called it a day.

Upton seeing Xtina’s outfit, we couldn’t help but notice the similarity to two rather iconic Meghan Markle and Princess Diana outfits.

As you may remember, the 38-year-old Duchess of Sussex sported a purple dress and cherry red coat while six months pregnant to her first joint public engagement of 2019 with Prince Harry. Once upon a time, her late mother-in-law the Princess of Wales wore the same color combo during a formal event.

But that’s not where the royal similarities stop.

Two days after the Mulan premiere, Queen Elizabeth herself took sartorial inspiration from Aguilera and wore a more conservative version of her dress.

We never thought we’d see the day.
