The French may be revered for their classic style staples—Breton stripes, trench coats, crisp blue jeans. But every so often, even the timelessly chic women of Paris open up their wardrobes to a buzzy new trend. For summer 2026, it appears to be bandana print. More specifically, the bandana-print bags of Call It By Your Name.

The label transforms American-made bandana fabric into roomy carryalls, petite purses and other accessories, all of which make for playful statement pieces, whether or not they also feature the brand's signature embroidery. Considering that it was founded by a fellow chic Parisian, fashion designer Colombe Campana, I'm not surprised that Call It By Your Name speaks to French women's effortlessly cool style philosophy.

While the French brand has undeniably been on the rise for the past few years (everyone's favorite expat-in-Paris, Emily, even wore one of its paisley totes last season), Call It By Your Name's bags have catapulted to "It" status this summer; they're as ubiquitous on the streets of Paris as they are in the vacation photos of Americans in the know.

Some are slim, some are quilted, some are the perfect size for stashing your toiletries. (Is anyone else getting Vera Bradley flashbacks or just me?) Plenty also feature fun embroidered phrases or icons—how cute is the little mushroom on this pouch, for example? In addition to serving as the ideal everyday bag for an urban gal on the go, the cotton styles are great for picnics and beach days—and I've even seen some savvy moms using them as diaper bags. Très fabuleux!

To me, they're the quintessential embodiment of cultural cross-pollination; the ruggedness of the American west meets the edgy refinement of Paris. And I'm calling it now: They're going to spark a major resurgence of paisley prints and bandana motifs well into fall. That said, you might want to secure yours before more French fashion watchers catch on.
