The cinnamon-hued style comes in a couple of additional prints, but I’ve found the rich brown hue to be universally flattering. I’m also a one-piece girly and was thrilled to come across a suit that felt classic and chic. At first glance, it’s a suit that looks totally traditional, but the bow tie shoulders, the square neck (and back) add just the right amount of visual interest. (Can we also just give a shout-out to bathing suits that provide ample bum coverage? Yes, please.)
FWIW, I’m 5’2” and always on the lookout for petite options. (Boden offers plenty.) But with the Bow Tie Shoulder swimsuit, I opted for the regular in a size 6 and found the fit to be just right. The tie straps help, too, allowing you to adjust the fit exactly how you like it. (They’re also super helpful for moms who are nursing—I was during this trip.)
Speaking of boobs, this bathing suit comes with sewn-in cups, so you’ll have ample support wherever your water adventures may take you. In my case, I spent the day playing Marco Polo with my 8-year-old and his cousins before dashing over to the splash pad to help my husband corral my 1-year-old, who was hellbent on climbing up the water slide the wrong way. (Vacation with kids, amiright?)
Still, during the rare moments when I sipped an Arnold Palmer poolside or cracked open my book
, I felt chic and put-together. The only criticism I have is that it occasionally took me a few times to get the bow tie straps perfectly even. But that had more to do with my own quest for precision than the suit itself.
One-pieces FTW! Now, all I need for summer is a cute hat.
