It’s no secret that we’re big fans of lululemon. From the top-of-the-line designs and materials to the constant release of new arrivals, keeping our interests constantly piqued (and our credit cards busy), there’s so much to love about the brand. From the top-of-the-line designs and materials to the constant release of new arrivals, the brand continually piques our interest. We know you’ve heard of the Align leggingsmen’s pants and Energy bras, but there's one category you may be overlooking—and definitely shouldn't: lululemon jackets.

While the brand is best known for its athletic Define jacket styles, you can find tons of options like winter coats, rain jackets, workout zip-ups, windbreakers and more. Personally, our top pick is the lululemon Define Luon jacket ($118). “I live for how comfy and wearable this jacket is. A lot of athletic zip-ups have zippers that poke out or material that is too thick or pills, but this design and the Luon fabric is the ideal combination for the perfect workout jacket,” says commerce editor Olivia Dubyak.

How We Chose the Best lululemon Jackets

Having tried some of these jackets, our editors have concluded that it’s important to look for how breathable and flexible the material is, how durable the jacket is over time and how it fits. With that as our top criteria, we vetted editors' reviews of the jackets they've tested, as well as customer reviews of the jackets we've been unable to review firsthand. Preference was given to the top-rated styles across the board.

Best Overall

1. lululemon Define Luon Jacket

lululemon

  • What We Like: sculpting shape, zipper hood
  • What We Don’t Like: sleeves are quite long
  • Material: Luon
  • Size Range: 0 to 20
  • Promising Review: “I wear this jacket constantly, and it’s even stretched over my baby belly and fits nicely still. The material is thick and sturdy without being constricting and it really gives shape to my waist and hips.” —Olivia Dubyak, PureWow commerce editor

The classic lululemon Define jacket is a fan favorite for many reasons. Not only is it great for giving your upper body shape and defining your curves beautifully, it’s super comfortable to wear for workouts, according to Dubyak. The Luon fabric is sweat-wicking, breathable and has a four-way stretch, so you won’t feel constricted when you’re at Pilates.

Best Lightweight Jacket

2. lululemon Another Mile Jacket

lululemon

  • What We Like: lightweight, reflective details, water-repellant, slim fit
  • What We Don’t Like: runs small, long sleeves
  • Material: Glyde and PrimaLoft
  • Size Range: 0 to 14
  • Promising Review: "I purchased this jacket for traveling and love it. It’s ideal for cool evenings and mornings. I especially like that I can remove the hood as I don’t live in a rainy climate and don’t always need it...It’s lightweight, very versatile and doesn’t leave me overheated. I’m in perimenopause and can actually wear this coat without sweating like a beast!"—a lululemon customer

Whether you run hot or you're not into bulky jackets (uh, same), this breathable style has your name written all over it. For starters, it has a slim fit that apparently skims your body so you look snatched even in the dead of winter. Yes, that's right, this lightweight jacket can handle the cold. Thanks to its Glyde fabric (ahem, a genius blend of polyester and nylon) and PrimaLoft insulation, you'll stay looking good and feeling warm all while ducking rain and wind. And if you go for a run in it at night, the reflective details will make sure you're seen at all times. So, really, what more can you ask for? Zippered exterior pockets (with a hidden phone sleeve!), removable hood and thumbholes, perhaps? It's got all of that already, so just add it to cart and prepare to never look back.

Best Winter Running Jacket

3. lululemon Down For It All Jacket

lululemon

  • What We Like: fitted puffer style, reflective detailing
  • What We Don’t Like: fits a little small, according to reviewers
  • Material: Glyde and PrimaLoft
  • Size Range: 0 to 18
  • Promising Review: “[It’s] smooth and sleek. This jacket is much nicer than I expected. [Plus, it] tapers in at the waist and fits very well.” —a lululemon customer

If you live in a cold winter climate and are an outdoor runner, you know the importance of a high-quality running jacket. This one is made with the water-resistant Glyde material and has PrimaLoft insulation for lots of breathable warmth. Reviewers mention it does run a smidge on the smaller side, so if you want extra room for thicker layers, opt for a size up.

Best Cropped Jacket

4. lululemon Define Cropped Jacket

lululemon

  • What We Like: Nulu fabric, cropped fit
  • What We Don’t Like: sleeves may be too long for those who don’t utilize thumb holes
  • Material: Nulu
  • Size Range: 0 to 14
  • Promising Review: “[I] love this jacket! The crop is the perfect length and the jacket itself is light and easy to throw on with any athletic outfit.” —a lululemon customer

If you prefer your workout jackets to have a cropped fit, this one’s for you. It’s made to hit right above your hips, so your high-waist leggings will look great with this zip-up. It’s made of the iconic Nulu fabric (the same as our favorite Align leggings) so you can expect the buttery soft material to keep you comfortable and supported throughout your workout. Not only is this jacket a fan favorite because of the material, it’s also earned praise for how flattering and comfortable it is to wear outside of a sweaty gym sesh.

Best Relaxed Jacket

5. lululemon Define Relaxed-Fit Jacket

lululemon

  • What We Like: relaxed fit, cinchable waist
  • What We Don’t Like: only available in two colors
  • Material: Luon
  • Size Range: 0 to 14
  • Promising Review: “It’s the same material as the fitted version of the Define style, making it just as functional for working out and movement, but even comfier since it’s relaxed in fit.” —Olivia Dubyak, PureWow commerce editor

If you’re a fan of lululemon’s original Define jacket, you’re going to love this brand-new iteration. The relaxed fit has a cinchable waist so you can adjust your fit for runs or cool weather workouts, and the sleeves unfold depending on your styling preference. There’s also a zipper cage at the top of the neck so the metal doesn’t poke into your skin if you have it zipped up the full way.

Best Puffer Coat

6. lululemon Wunder Puff Jacket

lululemon

  • What We Like: zipper and button front, waist length
  • What We Don’t Like: sleeves may be slightly long on some people
  • Material: nylon, polyester, lycra, goose down
  • Size Range: 0 to 14
  • Promising Review: “This coat is so comfortable and warm!! I live in Wisconsin, and I wanted something to keep me warm, but I also didn’t want something as big as a parka. This coat is so dang cute, and I love wearing it! I would say if you like wearing layers under it you should probably size up one!” —a lululemon customer

Puffer coats are a fantastic choice for cold climates, and if you don’t want a big parka like the reviewer notes, this shorter version that’s stuffed with goose down and feathers and topped with a water-resistant material is going to keep you warm and dry without the extra bulk. “This is a roomy jacket [and] I love the slightly oversized, poofy look [so I] didn’t size down. The jacket is light, warm and super cute,” notes another customer.

Best Water-Repellant Jacket

7. lululemon Always Effortless Jacket

lululemon

  • What We Like: water-repellant, hip length
  • What We Don’t Like: cinchable waist seems unnecessary on this design
  • Material: Glyde
  • Size Range: 0 to 14
  • Promising Review: “This is the best jacket ever. I wear [an] 8/10 and I went with 8 in this one [and] it fits a tad larger…[I] love how the hood tucks away [and] it’s actually warm for windy days and performs really well in rain as well.” —a lululemon customer

Not only is this jacket functional, it’s super cute, too. Several reviewers note that it’s a great fall jacket since it’s lightweight but still provides water resistance and an extra layer to keep you cozy on chilly fall days. The waist is cinchable, though we weren't crazy about that look with this boxier style. That said, we do love the back flap, which makes the jacket more breathable, as well as the multiple zip pockets for storage.

Best Raincoat

8. lululemon Rain Rebel Jacket

lululemon

  • What We Like: reflective cuffs, long silhouette
  • What We Don’t Like: only available in three colors
  • Material: Glyde
  • Size Range: 0 to 14
  • Promising Review: “I love the length and color, as well as the fact that the waist has a pull string to make it smaller. It would definitely size down; this had a larger fit on me.” —a lululemon customer

Like the Always Effortless jacket, this coat is great for keeping water off you during rainy fall and spring days. We love that the cuffs have a reflective lululemon label since it gets dark so early in fall and winter. It isn’t super fitted to the body, so it is ideal for layering, and the back has a flap for ventilation so you won’t overheat.
