Ariana Grande Trades Glinda Pink for a Golden Globes Look That’s Totally On-Trend

Or should we say, “popular”

For anyone who is still coming off the high that was Wicked: For Good, it’s hard to shed the image of Ariana Grande as her bubbly pink self—er, character—Glinda. Well, her all-black look on the red carpet at the 2026 Golden Globes is a start. It’s also on-trend.

Don’t get us wrong, the silhouette of Grande’s dress is very similar to the type of ensemble Glinda would reach for in a clock tick. (IYKYK.) But the structure and glamour behind tonight’s style is remarkably different than that which her on-screen alter ego would wear, thanks to one defining detail—the striking black hue.

We’ll admit, we love it for its Old Hollywood vibes. But it’s also crystal clear after tracking the other looks on tonight’s Golden Globes red carpet—Grande seems to be in lock step with an all-black dress code that has been so frequently sighted, it’s absolutely a trend.

Who else wore it well tonight? Ayo Edebiri, who is nominated for The Bear, also looked completely timeless in all-black. (Love her chic bob, too!)

Also, Julia Roberts. She is nominated for After the Hunt and, in an understated LBD, she is the picture of elegance and style.

Finally, Teyana Taylor—who took home the Golden Globe early in the night for One Battle After Another—stunned in all-black.

Let’s just say, Grande is in good (sartorial) company tonight.
