Bugaboo Fox 5 Renew Review

  • sturdiness
  • pram and seat are included

What We Don't Like

  • size of the seat before extended
  • jerky recline
  • very pricey

Bugaboo

  • Stroller: Bugaboo Fox 5

“The smoothness of the ride, and the bassinet component, is what hooked me on this stroller,” shares Davison. “As an infant, my son fought nap time with every fiber of his being and was pretty colicky; a nice stroll would lull him to sleep and provide some much-needed fresh air. It wound up being a cool perk that the bassinet had a PureBreeze mattress with antimicrobial protection, and that it was surprisingly lightweight—less than 27 pounds— for how sturdy it felt. I credit the smooth ride, especially on uneven sidewalks and over curbs, to its large, all-terrain tires. I could trundle over gnarled roots on a cracked sidewalk without waking my son.

The storage underneath the stroller proved large enough to fit two bursting bags of groceries or the 22 children's books my daughter insisted we needed from the library.”

Comfort

“My son loved the freedom of the bassinet, and once he got bigger, he really enjoyed the seat. The lap bar felt like he was being buckled into a seat for a ride, and I've often wished they had a steering wheel attachment, because he loves pretending to ‘drive’ from that seat. I really like how easy the five-point harness is to use, though I do feel like the seat itself is a bit small. Landon is very tall for his age—he's wearing 4T at 2—but it still feels like his legs are about to touch the ground in this chair, which I don't experience with our other stroller, the Guava Roam. He sometimes naps in the chair, but the recline feature isn't as smooth as I like, so it's not as convenient in that regard.”

Ease of Fold & Transport

“While it's easy to lift, I can't really do it while holding the baby. A diaper bag slung onto my back, sure, but this really requires two hands to fold or maneuver. It's fairly easy to get through the entryway, since it's so easy to maneuver. I haven't taken it on flights, but that's largely because my other stroller has gotten damaged twice—once beyond repair—during my last two trips. After three months of back and forth with the airline, only for a $50 travel credit that expired before I could use it, I have been unwilling to risk gate-checking such an expensive stroller.”

Style

“This is a sleek, chic stroller. It's the first one that's gotten compliments on multiple trips out and about—who even notices the way a stroller looks, let alone enough to say it looks cool?! That was a surprise, though I have to say, I agree. It's cute.”

UPPAbaby Vista 3 Review

What We Like

  • excellent maneuverability and smooth ride
  • magnetic harness system
  • mesh ventilation
  • huge under-carriage storage basket
  • peek-a-boo panel in toddler seat

What We Don't Like

  • pedal lock can be sticky
  • folding mechanism still a bit cumbersome; two hands required, large footprint when closed
  • bulky
  • does not include pram

UPPAbaby

  • Meet the Tester: Rachel Bowie, PureWow’s Senior Special Projects Director
  • Children: Ages 7 and 1
  • Stroller: UPPAbaby Vista 3

“I’ve been using the UPPAbaby Vista V3 for about nine months now, and honestly, it feels like the SUV of strollers,” says Bowie. “It’s sturdy, roomy and can grow with your family—from a single stroller to a double, even triple setup if you add accessories. The newest version has a smoother suspension system, reflective details for nighttime walks and a new magnetic buckle that clicks into place like magic. It’s definitely a ‘buy it once and use it for years’ kind of stroller.”

Comfort

“The ride is buttery smooth, even on bumpy sidewalks or cracked city pavement. My now one-year-old naps like a dream in it, and I can tell the suspension is doing its job because there’s way less jostling around compared to the V2 that we used with my older child. Plus, the seat is super plush, and I love that the canopy has mesh ventilation for airflow on warm days. There’s also a bassinet option with great padding—basically, your baby’s first luxury car.”

Ease of Fold & Transport

Here’s the thing: it’s not light, warns Bowie. “The stroller itself weighs around 27 pounds, and while it does fold up neatly and can stand on its own, it still takes up a decent amount of trunk space. Folding it requires two hands, which is fine unless you’re juggling a coffee and a toddler (which, let’s be real, is always). The brake pedal can be a little sticky, too. But once you get used to it, the whole setup becomes second nature. I wouldn’t call it travel-friendly, but for everyday use, it’s rock solid.”

Style

“I have to admit, it’s a good-looking stroller. The frame and fabrics feel really high-end, the leather handlebar gives it a chic touch, and after months of use, mine still looks brand-new. I went with a darker color (Noa), which hides dirt surprisingly well. If you care about aesthetics (and who doesn’t when you’re pushing this thing every day?), this one definitely looks the part.”

  • Weight: 27 lb (frame + seat)
  • Basket capacity: 30 lb
  • Folded size: 17.3″ × 25.7″ × 33.3″ (with seat)
  • Unfolded size: 36″ × 25.7″ × 39.5″
  • Use from: birth – 50 lb

What's Included:

Bottom Line

If you’re looking for the stroller that can do it all, the UPPAbaby Vista V3 is the one to beat. It’s sturdy, stylish and built to grow with your family—perfect if you’re planning for more than one kid or just want something that feels solid and smooth for daily walks, errands and long naps on the go. The storage is unmatched, the ride is luxe, and despite being a little heavy, it earns its keep every single day. That said, if you’re a one-kid household who spends more time on trails, uneven city sidewalks or wants a sleeker, lighter push, the Bugaboo Fox 5 might be your better match—it’s all about that silky glide and all-terrain ease.
