This Gripping Mexican Thriller Became the Most-Watched Non-English Show on Netflix

This popular Netflix show combines everything we loved about The Undoing and Big Little Lies…with a hint of Succession.

We’re talking about Who Killed Sara?, the show that climbed up Netflix's top 10 list in less than a day after the third season was released. And last week, the Spanish mystery thriller took the top spot as the most-watched non-English TV show on the platform, raking in a whopping 46.59 million hours viewed (this week it has moved down to the #2 spot behind Wrong Side of the Tracks). The show also appeared in the Top 10 list in 68 countries, overtaking other popular titles like Welcome to Eden, Wrong Side of the Tracks and Business Proposal.

Who Killed Sara? is a classic case of whodunnit. The show opens on a group of teenagers partying on a boat and quickly takes a dramatic turn when a harness fails, resulting in the tragic death of Sara (Ximena Lamadrid).

Fast-forward 18 years, and Sara’s brother, Álex (Manolo Cardona), is finishing up his prison sentence after being framed for Sara’s murder. (Yes, you read that right.) When he’s released, Álex seeks revenge on the people responsible for his wrongful imprisonment: the Lazcano family.

In addition to Lamadrid and Cardona, Who Killed Sara? also stars Ginés García Millán (César), Claudia Ramírez (Mariana), Juan Carlos Remolina (Sergio), Ana Lucía Domínguez (Sofia) and Eugenio Siller (Jose).

The show was created by José Ignacio Valenzuela (Behind Closed Doors), who also co-wrote the script alongside Jean Pierre Fica (Lo Que Callamos Las Mujeres) and Rosario Valenzuela (Eres Mi Tesoro). David Ruiz (La Negociadora) directed the series.

Who Killed Sara? is now streaming on Netflix. *Adds to queue*
