Miss ‘King of Queens’? Kevin James Has a New Show & It’s Already #4 on Netflix

Kevin James is back on the small screen. And no, we’re not ctalking about a King of Queens reboot. The 55-year-old actor just officially released a new show on Netflix, and after just one day, the series has already made its way onto the streaming service’s top ten list.

Called The Crew, the television comedy centers around a NASCAR crew chief whose team is struggling to adapt to new (much younger) management. Released on February 15, the new sitcom has already landed the 4th spot on Netflix’s most-watched list (it's currently ranked behind Crime Scene: The Vanishing at the Cecil Hotel, iCarly and Firefly Lane).

Netflix’s official synopsis reads, “The Crew stars Kevin James as a NASCAR crew chief for the fictional Bobby Spencer Racing team. When the owner steps down and passes the team off to his daughter Catherine, James has to protect himself and his crew from her attempts to modernize the team.”

In addition to James, The Crew also stars Jillian Mueller (A Gifted Man), Freddie Stroma (Pitch Perfect), Sarah Stiles (Billions), Gary Anthony Williams (American Dad!) and Dan Ahdoot (Cobra Kai).

Directed and executive produced by Andy Fickman (Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2), the 2021 show (which consists of ten episodes) has yet to be rated by critics on Rotten Tomatoes. However, the audience gave it a respectable score of 62 percent. No word yet on if the series will be renewed for a second season.
