We've really been missing Ted Lasso and his AFC Richmond squad. But last week, our hopes were raised when one of the stars of Ted Lasso, Nick Mohammed (who plays Nathan “Nate” Shelley), teased that fans may eventually get a fourth season of the hit Apple TV+ dramedy.

In the caption of his post, Mohammed reflected on the moment when he posted a spoiler for season three in 2022. “One year to the day since #TedLasso wrapped,” he wrote. “And one year to the day that I accidentally posted this spoiler of Nate in AFC Richmond kit!” The accompanying photo sees Mohammed on the set of the show, dressed in an AFC Richmond sweatsuit (which, at the time, revealed that his character would eventually rejoin the staff of Lasso’s team).
However, it was the end of Mohammed’s caption that really caught our attention, where he added, “Promise it won’t happen again on season 4- now wait.”
The tease caught the attention of other fans, like one user who wrote, “Season 4?!?!?” Another follower joked, “C’mon Nate, tell us it’s happening!!! I promise you a window table anywhere!!!!”
Of course, Mohammed didn't confirm anything, but let's remember that Apple TV+ never *officially* announced that the third season of Ted Lasso would be its last.
In fact, the streaming service has been teasing that the show might return with a few different posts on social media. For instance, a shot of Mohammed with his co-stars, Brett Goldstein (Roy Kent) and Brendan Hunt (Coach Beard), was posted to the official Apple TV+ X (formerly known as Twitter) account, with a caption that read, “Smells like potential.” Mohammed then shared the tweet to his own account, with a zipper-mouth face emoji.
Based on this tweet and the fact that Ted Lasso’s story was nicely wrapped up at the end of season three, it seems likely that if we get another installment of the sports series, it will be sans its titular character. But only time will tell.
