If you are a fan of all things murder mystery, we have some very exciting news for you. Shonda Rhimes, who created and produced Netflix's miniseries Inventing Anna, has another thriller series up her sleeve.

Per PopSugar, the Shondaland founder is currently working on a White House crime series called The Residence. Based on the 2015 novel by Kate Andersen Browe, titled The Residence: Inside the Private World of the White House, the eight-episode series will take viewers behind the walls of the most powerful house in America, spanning from Kennedy to Obama.

The official logline reads: “132 rooms. 157 suspects. One dead body. One wildly eccentric detective. One disastrous State Dinner. The Residence is a screwball whodunnit set in the upstairs, downstairs and backstairs of the White House, among the eclectic staff of the world’s most famous mansion.”

Netflix has not released information regarding casting details and the release date. But we can already predict that we’ll be glued to our television screens from beginning to end. Given the fact that Rhimes has brought us shows like Scandal and How to Get Away with Murder, we are certainly in for a whirlwind.

We’ll certainly be on the lookout for more details regarding Shonda’s new show.
