Netflix's #6 Show Is the Twisty Murder Mystery You Need After Bingeing 'His & Hers'

When it comes to deciding on a new series to binge-watch, the options are seemingly infinite. Netflix’s Top 10 definitely helps narrow that search by delivering a concise list of just ten shows. And when I recently looked at that list, one title sitting at the number six spot immediately piqued my interest. That series is Harlan Coben’s Run Away.

The intrigue doesn’t come only from its spot in Netflix’s Top 10 (or the fact that it previously held the number one position shortly after its January 1 release). It also comes from the name behind it. Harlan Coben is the mastermind responsible for top-charting mystery thrillers like Missing You, Caught and Fool Me Once, all of which became major binge-watch hits. So naturally, this felt like an easy choice. Plus, as someone who recently binged His & Hers (which was phenomenal—full PureWow review here), I’m looking for something equally gripping to fill that void.

To start, Run Away is a mystery series that follows Simon Greene (James Nesbitt), a father whose seemingly perfect life begins to unravel after his daughter, Paige, runs off and becomes entangled with drugs and crime.

When Simon eventually finds her, an altercation with her troubled boyfriend leads to the boyfriend’s murder. Suddenly, Simon becomes a suspect, forcing him to uncover dark family secrets and confront a dangerous cult in order to find his daughter and clear his name, all while navigating an ongoing police investigation and unsettling truths about his own family.

In addition to Nesbitt, the miniseries also stars Minnie Driver (Good Will Hunting) and Alfred Enoch (How To Get Away With Murder), rounding out a strong and familiar cast.

And here’s what people are saying about Run Away online.

One user on X raved, "Just finished run away on Netflix and honestly I am FLABBERGASTED . NETFLIX YOU DID A DAMN GOOD JOB," while another pointed out, "Nothing could’ve prepared me for that ending."

A third shared, in part, "…the Harlan Coben adaptation Run Away keeps you hooked right to the end. It throws you for a loop in every episode and surprises you with an unexpected ending too."

So in other words, I know exactly what I’ll be bingeing this evening, how about you?

Run Away is streaming now on Netflix.
