Netflix’s #7 Show Is the Kind of Dark Thriller That Keeps You Up Way Too Late

And there's already two whole seasons out

If there’s one thing Netflix does well, it’s giving overlooked shows a second (and sometimes wildly successful) life. Exhibit A: Suits, which quietly became a cultural phenomenon years after its finale, so much so that it even inspired a new spin-off, Suits: LA. Then there’s Lucifer, which went from a Fox cancellation to a Netflix Top 10 staple almost overnight. And now, there’s a new name joining that very specific club: Found, currently sitting at number seven on Netflix’s most-watched list.

If the title doesn’t ring a bell, let me break it down. Found is a procedural drama centered on a crisis management team that specializes in locating missing people, specifically those who are often ignored or overlooked by the system.

The team is led by Gabi Mosely (played by Shanola Hampton), a fiercely intelligent and deeply complicated protagonist. But here’s where things take a darker turn: Gabi is secretly holding her own childhood kidnapper, known only as “Sir” (Mark-Paul Gosselaar), captive in her basement, forcing him to use his criminal expertise to help solve cases. Yes, it’s unsettling. Yes, it’s gripping. And yes, it’s the kind of twist that keeps you saying, just one more episode.

The series originally premiered on NBC in October 2023 and was quickly renewed for a second season, which aired in October 2024. Unfortunately, despite a loyal fanbase, Found was canceled in May 2025. Both seasons landed on the streamer in January 2026 and, judging by the online reaction, viewers are fully locked in.

Fans have taken to X to share their enthusiasm, with one user saying they were “obsessed,” while another wrote, “Started ‘Found’ on Netflix. 10/10 so far.”

A third added, “found on netflix is so good and I’m only on episode 2.” Perhaps most tellingly, one viewer declared, “This needs about 5 more seasons because it was that GREAT!! NBC never deserved such quality.”

Will this renewed buzz be enough to resurrect the series? It’s too soon to say. But what is certain is that all episodes from both seasons are available to stream right now, making Found an easy yes for your next winter binge.

Found is streaming on Netflix now.
