Ree Drummond is a mother, a best-selling author, a television personality, a food blogger and…an up-and-coming actress?
The Pioneer Woman, 52, will make her acting debut in Discovery+’s all-new movie, Candy Coated Christmas, according to Variety. Since the Food Network is also involved, the streaming service will release a slew of additional content, like recipes seen in the film.
Candy Coated Christmas tells the story of a woman (Molly McCook) who returns to her hometown of Peppermint Hollow. When her plans to start a business are put on hold, she befriends a local bakery owner (Drummond).
As Variety points out, Drummond’s role was written specifically for her. “Ree is the epitome of a female-skewing Food Network talent,” Kathleen Finch (chief lifestyle brands officer for Discovery+) said in a statement. “We put her and all these fun ideas into a pot and came up with this fun idea.”
