Everything We Know About Olympic Swimmer Katie Ledecky’s Boyfriend

If you’ve been watching the Tokyo Olympics, then there’s a good chance you’ve seen (or at least heard of) Katie Ledecky, who’s a star swimmer on Team USA. Although she’s a three-time Olympian, you probably know very little about her personal life. For example, when did she learn how to swim? Does Katie Ledecky have a boyfriend? And what else has the 24-year-old accomplished?

Keep scrolling for details.

1. Who Is Katie Ledecky?

Ledecky grew up in her Maryland hometown of Bethesda, where she’s been swimming since she was 6 years old. She originally made a name for herself at age 15, when she won her first gold medal at the 2012 London Olympics. In Rio, she added four gold medals and one silver medal to her collection. In Tokyo, Ledecky won another gold medal for 1,500-meter freestyle, along with a silver medal for 400-meter freestyle. So yeah, she’s a pretty big deal.

2. Who Is Katie Ledecky's Boyfriend?

To our knowledge, she doesn’t have a boyfriend. Ledecky’s relationship status is largely due to the Olympics, which have consumed her schedule for the past year or so. Another factor is the coronavirus pandemic, which forced the athlete to self-isolate from friends and family.

“I haven’t seen my family in over a year now, not one family member,” she said during a pre-Tokyo interview. “That’s something that I miss, and I want to make this time that I’ve spent just doing my craft and training really, really hard and all that, I want to make sure that it’s worth it.”

3. What Else Has She Accomplished?

When she’s not winning Olympic medals, Ledecky is busy studying and training (no surprises there). She recently graduated from Stanford with a degree in psychology and a minor in science. During this time, she competed on the school’s swim team while training for the Olympics. When Stanford shut down the pool during the coronavirus pandemic, Ledecky revealed that a generous family let her train in their fancy pool.

“I know a lot of people swam in rinky-dink backyard pools, but I was able to swim in a two-lane, 25-yard backyard pool,” she said, according to CNN. “My teammate Simone Manuel and I actually were able to train together in this backyard pool. We would go there every day and it was a very, very kind family that let us come there and get our work in.”

4. Is She On Social Media?

Of course. Ledecky has official Instagram, Twitter and Facebook accounts. While her Twitter page is filled with candid photos and information about upcoming meets, her Instagram feed is a mix of personal and professional photos. She reposts almost everything on Facebook, so fans can know about all her latest endeavors and accomplishments.
