Now, the gold medalist is speaking out about her health. “Physically, I feel good, I'm in shape,” she told Hoda Kotb (who was cheering her on from the stands) exclusively on Today. “Emotionally, that kind of varies on the time and moment. Coming here to the Olympics and being the head star isn't an easy feat, so we're just trying to take it one day at a time and we'll see.”
As far as the rest of the events, Biles told Kotb that she is unsure if she will return for Thursday’s all-around competition. “We're going to take it day by day, and we're just gonna see,” she revealed.
And while the situation was not ideal for Biles and her teammates, she made sure to remain calm and to encourage them to push along without her.
She continued, “They were like crying, and I was like, 'You guys need to relax, you're going to be fine without me. Go out there, kick some butt just like you've done in training, and just lay it out on the floor and see what happens,'" Biles said. “I'm OK, just super frustrated of how the night played out, but super proud of these girls that stepped up and did what they needed to do and now we're Olympic silver medalists, so it's something that we'll cherish forever," Biles said. "We hope America still loves us.”
We’re rooting for you, Simone.
