Simone Biles Receives Ton of Support from Fans and Celebs Following Team Finals Exit

Simone Biles is receiving a ton of support following her exit from today’s team gymnastics event at the Tokyo Olympics.

On Tuesday, Biles withdrew from the women's team gymnastics final after a difficult turn on the vault. Following her exit, the 24-year-old gymnast sat on the sidelines and cheered on her teammates as Team USA took home silver medals.

“Simone Biles has withdrawn from the team final competition due to a medical issue. She will be assessed daily to determine medical clearance for future competitions,” the US Gymnastics team revealed in a statement.

Since the news broke, a handful of celebrities, public figures and fellow athletes shared messages of support for Biles, who is a four-time gold-winning medalist at the Olympics and the winner of nineteen World Championship gold medals. Andy Cohen wrote, “We love you @Simone_Biles !!!” Loni Love added, “Protect your peace @Simone_Biles.. you are and will always be a champion…. Only positive vibes going out to you !!!!!”

One day before her withdrawal, the world champion got candid on IG about the pressure she's felt, saying, “Prelims [done] now to prepare for finals. It wasn’t an easy day or my best but I got through it. I truly do feel like I have the weight of the world on my shoulders at times. I know I brush it off and make it seem like pressure doesn’t affect me but damn sometimes it’s hard hahaha! The olympics is no joke! BUT I’m happy my family was able to be with me virtually. They mean the world to me!”

Biles told Hoda Kotb on Today that she is unsure if she will return for the upcoming gymnastics events.
