Here are eight Halloween events near Miami to check out this year, from family-friendly to super spooky and beyond.

1. Wharf Horror Story

Get your costumes ready: Wharf Miami and Fort Lauderdale are behind this year’s Wharf Horror Story, two adults-only ghostly events happening on the Miami River in downtown Miami and the new River in Fort Lauderdale on October 31. Both locations will offer plenty of themed cocktails, music and programming centered on Halloween-inspired flicks and shows.

2. Haunted W Rooftop

What better way to channel your alter ego than on one of the most beautiful rooftop bars in the entire city? Offering breathtaking views of downtown and South Beach, the W’s outdoor rooftop will transform into a haunted escape on Halloween night with two DJ booths, LED walls, light-up party favors and enough spooky decor to last until next year. In other words, it’s the costume party rave you never knew you needed.

3. Zoo Boo 2021

Picture this: Giant river otters bobbing for pumpkins. Wait, what about saki monkeys in a spooky forest? Expect all of that and more on Halloween weekend (Saturday through Sunday) during this year’s Zoo Boo 2021. Families and children under 12 can expect to trick-or-treat in costume, meet special characters, make Halloween crafts and hang out with Zoo Miami’s furry friends.

4. Hallowave

Superheroes on every street corner, costume contests for dogs (and their owners) and enough candy for children and their parents? Count us in for Hallowave, an all-day spooktacular celebration on Halloween for kids and families in Miami Beach.

5. HalloWYN Block Party

Thousands will flood the streets of Wynwood in their craziest costumes to celebrate Halloween this year. Rally a few fun friends for HalloWYN, an all-day (and night) event complete with food and cocktails, live entertainment and spooky specials. The event is rain or shine and open to all ages, though you might want to leave the kids at home if you’re planning to stay past daylight.

6. Monster Bar Crawl

Monster. Bar. Crawl. Yep, the spooky sip fest is back and better than ever. Hang out in Brickell for an evening filled with drinks, dancing and Halloween debauchery. Plus, you’ll visit five different venues, sip on drinks at each one and take advantage of additional specials.

7. Maxim Halloween Party

Miami’s sultriest Halloween event is back this year: Maxim Halloween. Taking over the Fontainebleau, this is the place to get dressed to the nines and enjoy an evening of cirque performances (!), an open bar (!!) and an intimate performance by rap superstar Future (!!!). Need we say more?

8. Local Pumpkin Patches

If you’re looking for a family-friendly Halloween event, consider spending an afternoon at a local pumpkin patch. That’s right: Miami’s full of them—and they’re complete with thousands of ready-to-decorate pumpkins, corn mazes, carnival rides and other attractions perfect for kids of all ages.
