BET+ Just Released Its Summer Slate (& We Are So Ready)

With summer fast approaching, several streaming platforms are rolling out their lengthy list of upcoming releases, from Netflix to HBO Max. But now, we're turning our attention to BET+, home to a variety of shows, specials and films from the best Black creators.

The streaming service promises to bring all the heat with new originals like The Black Hamptons and the highly-anticipated Martin: The Reunion. Plus, loyal fans can expect the return of favorites like The Ms. Pat Show, All the Queen's Men and more. Keep reading for all the new releases coming this summer.

1. American Gangster: Trap Queens (season 3b)

Release date: June 9

This gripping true crime series, which is narrated by rapper Lil’ Kim, will premiere five new episodes that explore the real stories of Sydia Bagley, Lonett “Cookie” Williams, Pam Driskel, Tracie Dickey and Demi “Mimi” Harrison. The show will include first-hand accounts and archival footage as it dives into a series of crimes that range from real estate fraud to drug trafficking.

2. Martin: The Reunion

Release date: June 16

Martin and the gang are back at it again in this 90-minute special, featuring original cast members Martin Lawrence, Tisha Campbell, Tichina Arnold and Carly Anthony Payne II. With Affion Crockett serving as host, the cast will look back on the show’s highlights, discuss the most iconic characters and pay a special tribute to the late actor Tommy Ford.

3. All The Queen's Men (season 2)

Release date: July 14

Eva Marcille shines as Marilyn ‘Madam’ DeVille, a successful businesswoman who’s making serious moves in the male exotic nightclub industry. In season two, the drama multiplies tenfold as she tries to expand her empire. Returning cast members include Skyh Alvester Black, Candace Maxwell, Racquel Palmer, Michael ‘Bolo’ Bolwaire and Keith Swift Jr.

4. The Ms. Pat Show (season 2)

Release date: August 11

Inspired by comedian Ms. Pat's real life, this critically acclaimed series will continue to follow the no-nonsense matriarch and her family as they navigate life's ups and downs in a white suburban neighborhood. Per the official synopsis, Pat will "confront her own demons," but you can also expect plenty of laugh-worthy moments.
