Katie Thurston’s season of The Bachelorette is officially over, and ABC is wasting no time saying, “Thank u, next.”

The franchise’s creator, Mike Fleiss, just confirmed that production on Michelle Young’s season of The Bachelorette has already begun. He shared a behind-the-scenes photo on his verified Twitter account, featuring the 28-year-old Bachelorette on what appears to be a basketball-themed group date.

The caption read, “On location with our #TheBachelorette.”

Young originally starred on Matt James’s season of The Bachelor, where she was the runner-up. Although she lost to Rachael Kirkconnell in the finale, fans immediately speculated that she would be chosen as the next Bachelorette.

ABC confirmed the news during The Bachelor: After the Final Rose special when it announced not one, but two new Bachelorette leads: Katie Thurston and Young. (While Thurston went first with season 17, Young will follow suit with season 18.)

“I am ready. I really do think this process works,” Young said during The Bachelor finale. “When you get to set down all the outside distractions and really dive in, I think you can learn a lot about somebody. I’m just excited. I’m ready to get started.”

Similar to season 17, the new installment will be hosted by former Bachelorettes Tayshia Adams and Kaitlyn Bristowe. The decision came shortly after Chris Harrison made inappropriate comments toward former Bachelorette Rachel Lindsay, which prompted his immediate departure.

Let the countdown begin.
