Hourglass’s latest announcement is making us want to scream yaaasss!

The cosmetics company just revealed that it’s developing all-new sustainable beauty packaging, which is set to debut in July 2021. Founder and CEO Carisa Janes announced the exciting news during an interview with Women’s Wear Daily, where she teased what’s to come.

“It’s probably the most disruptive, innovative product we’ve ever launched,” she told the mag.

In an attempt to decrease single-use plastics, Hourglass is harnessing the power of refillable packaging, which will “offer a more purposeful way to shop and experience color.” Once it launches, the packaging will enable customers to keep their empty bottles and opt for a refill. Not only is the creation customizable, but it also gives consumers a “personalized way to engage with products.”

“I’m also proud of the way it looks,” Janes added. “I wanted to create something sustainable and beautifully designed, a luxurious and chic keepsake that is meant to be reused again and again and not thrown away, which helps reduce waste overall and is more cost-effective.”

The new packaging is just one of many launches that Hourglass has planned for fall 2021, all of which will utilize tin, aluminum and postconsumer recycled plastic.

Sustainability FTW.
