1. Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipsticks

What We Like

  • soft matte finish
  • long-lasting
  • great color payoff

What We Don't Like

  • a bit drying later in the day

Charlotte Tilbury

I haven’t worn a matte lipstick in years, but these new additions just might turn me into a full time convert. The OG Pillow Talk lipsticks are already a hit, so I wasn’t surprised that these were just as flattering on all skin tones. They come in four limited edition shades, and I tested “Dream Talk” (a muted deep mauve hue) and “Love Talk” (a strawberry red shade). They were both high-pigmented, glided nicely on my lips and left a soft matte finish. Each one is formulated with oils and waxes that promise 10-hour wear and non-transferring abilities. Both shades were comfortable for a couple of hours, but like many mattes I’ve tried, they started to feel a bit drying at the end of the day. However, the lipsticks are buildable, so I usually apply more lipstick or a lip balm on top for a moisturizing finish.

2. Charlotte Tilbury K.I.S.S.I.N.G Lipsticks

What We Like

  • moisturizing
  • softens lips
  • glossy finish

What We Don't Like

  • not transfer-proof

Charlotte Tilbury

The K.I.S.S.I.N.G lipsticks are a nice contrast to their matte counterparts. They are super moisturizing, lightweight and comfortable to wear all day. They comes in two shades: “Naughty Talk” (a neutral nude shade) and “Kiss Talk” (a dewy pink shade) that complemented my complexion. They’re rich in antioxidants, which are designed to soften and hydrate lips. While Matte Revolution is transfer-proof and long-lasting, these two offered a high-shine, glossy finish. They had more of a sheer texture, so I did need a few swipes to see pigment. The packaging is covered in the brand’s signature gold tube with a pink heart jewel on top, plus hearts inscribed on the actual lipstick and a unique shape that made lining my lips easier.

3. Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Big Lip Plumpgasm

What We Like

  • high-shine
  • glossy
  • adds fullness

What We Don't Like

  • tingling sensation lasts for a bit
  • not transfer-proof

Charlotte Tilbury

This lip gloss is not actually new, but it’s a popular item in the collection that caught my attention. Plumpgasm comes in two shades that complement your complexion, so I reached for the medium to deep shade that features hints of brown, berry and pink. This one doesn’t mess around in the gloss department—my pout never looked so juicy. Seriously—infused with heat and ice technology, collagen and hyaluronic acid, the plumping effect is no joke. It leaves a tingling sensation for a few minutes, leaving a smoother, fuller appearance. I wore it for a couple of hours, and it was still super hydrating and ultra-glossy. Hot tip: I recommend using the Pillow Talk Lip Cheat liner in “Pillow Talk Medium” for a lip combo that will define and enhance your fuller pout.

4. Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Beauty Soulmates Face Palette

What I Like

  • offers a blurring finish
  • powder brightens under-eye
  • chic packaging

What I Don't Like

  • pricey

Charlotte Tilbury

The face palette is the most popular item in the Pillow Talk collection. If you’re anything like me, then you’ve seen it all over your feed with its iconic heart-shaped design that looks oh-so pretty sitting on a vanity. But what’s inside the chic packaging is just as impressive. Once you open the palette, you’ll find two sections: the Airbrush Flawless Finish Setting Powder and the Pillow Talk Love Blush. The setting powder promises to lift, brighten and color correct—and it delivered. It works best with a blending brush—simply gather some product, tap away the excess and apply gently on your face. It’s easy to blend and it did a good job at reducing the appearance of my dark circles and redness. I’ll admit I was scared at first that the light shade was going to look chalky or drying on my skin, but it did quite the opposite. As for the blush, I’m usually a cream girlie, but I found the powder-based product worked wonders for my skin type. It offered a blurred finish across my cheekbones, although I recommend using at least two to three swipes in order to see the color.
