Rosé Day Is the Malibu Wine Party We Never Knew We Needed

On June 9, Saddlerock Ranch in Malibu will host the first annual Rosé Day, where more than a thousand guests will be free to roam the gorgeous grounds and sample scores of fine wines. (Think of it as the early-summer bookend to fall’s Champagne-soaked Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic.) In the interest of sparing you the FOMO of seeing idyllic snapshots from the event on your friends’ social feeds, here’s a rundown of what’s happening.

The Setting
Three hundred acres of grassy slopes and grapevines kept cool by a slight ocean breeze, the Saddlerock Ranch is so gorgeous that scores of weddings are held here annually. Think of Rosé Day as a really gorg wedding (without the boring parts and obligatory food processor gift).

The Mingling
General admission tickets are $85 and VIP tickets cost $165, so this event promises to attract a crowd that’s more refined than the usual outdoor rock show. Expect to see influencers, celebs and people who know their rosé (aka our crowd) mixing as they stroll among luxury brand activations, art exhibits and dining stations.

The Food
Iron Chef Marc Forgione is curating a collection of his favorite next-level food trucks, as well as whipping up some of his signature dishes. We’re saving room for the spicy chili lobster roll.

The Creative Stuff
Besides music courtesy of hot-stuff DJs (Zen Freeman, Devin Lucien and Caroline D’Amore), there will be Instagrammable set pieces like a giant frame in front of the Malibu mountains, a Möet Airstream overflowing with flowers and pink bikes to create your own “Tour de Rosé.” So think along the lines of the Museum of Ice Cream, but alcoholic.

The Wine (Duh)
We saved the best for last: The event is co-sponsored by Moët & Chandon and Bertaud Belieu, the Saint-Tropez-based host of the annual Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation Gala—in other words, it’s fancy. Among the featured drinks are Moët & Chandon’s Rosé Impérial, Grand Vintage Rosé 2009 and Ice Impérial Rosé, the new Champagne made especially to be served on the rocks.
