While most people pop various cold medicines, I just can't get on board with too many pharmaceuticals. Ask those that know me, I'm going for a mint tea for an upset stomach, and if I'm actually taking an Advil, you know my headache is that bad. But being cooped up in an office all day, germs are bound to spread. Everyone around me is coughing and sneezing and I'm pretty sure I'm going to catch the plague at this point. It's so tempting to pop these quick little packs in hopes that my immune system will get to Hulk status. So what's my solution so far? Rooted Shots.
Rooted Shots tout their products as combining "the benefits of real foods with the ease of a wellness shot." They taste great and currently have three varieties. My favorite is the turmeric, orange, ginger and black pepper mix. Each package has 500mg of Vitamin C and 700mg of turmeric. The bite of ginger and pepper combined with the sweetness of the orange is a perfect fall blend. It's easy to sip, and I know my immune system is getting a decent boost. Hot tip: Try mixing the powder in a mug of hot water, you won't regret it.
Is this my new cure for the flu? Probably not. But is it elevating my morning routine and giving me a little emotional (and hopefully immunity!) armor as my deskmate adds to the ever-growing pile of tissues? Absolutely.
